Refund Policy
Cancellation, rescheduling, deposits, and refund conditions for Lilac Field advisory engagements.
Effective date: 1 January 2025
This policy applies to paid advisory engagements with Lilac Field Business Consulting. Website use is free; this policy covers consultations including Strategic Planning Reviews, Succession Planning Workshops, and Operational Review Sessions.
Refund eligibility overview
Because our work involves scheduled consultant time and preparation, refunds depend on how much work has been completed when you cancel. All refunds are assessed against your signed engagement letter and the conditions below.
Deposits
A 40% deposit is required to confirm your start date. Deposits are fully refundable if you cancel more than 14 calendar days before the scheduled discovery start date.
If you cancel within 14 days of discovery start, the deposit is non-refundable unless we can reallocate the reserved time to another client (at our discretion).

Work completed includes interviews conducted, on-site days, and draft documents delivered.
Cancellation by Lilac Field
If we cancel an engagement due to consultant illness or unforeseen unavailability, you may choose a full refund of unused fees or rescheduling at no additional cost.
Rescheduling
One free reschedule is permitted if requested at least 10 business days before discovery. Additional reschedules or requests with less notice may incur a $450 AUD administrative fee to cover reserved consultant time.
Workshop and session no-shows
If participants do not attend a scheduled Succession Planning Workshop or on-site Operational Review day without 48 hours’ notice, that day is charged in full and is non-refundable.
Partial refunds after work has started
If you terminate an engagement after discovery begins but before final delivery, we invoice for work completed at the agreed daily rate specified in your proposal. Any prepaid amount exceeding that invoice is refunded within 14 business days.
Non-refundable items
- Third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (travel bookings, venue hire)
- Deliverables already presented or sent in final form
- Follow-up calls included in workshop fees once the follow-up has occurred
Refund method
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method via bank transfer within 14 business days of approval.
Purchased materials
We do not sell physical products. Any printed workshop materials are included in the consultation fee and are not separately refundable once provided.
Exceptions
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law where services fail to meet consumer guarantees.
